The Portuguese Legion that served under the orders of Napoleon is an almost forgotten episode, in the process of the French Invasions of Portugal otherwise known as the Peninsula War, those invasions occurred between three times 1807 and 1810, French armies were sent to take Portugal, three times they were defeated, it was here in Portugal that the French Napoleonic Army begun to taste for the first time the sore flavour of defeat.
